How to Service and Repair Wheel Bearings on a Rear Axle with an 8 1/4 Configuration on 2006 Dodge Durango?

If your vehicle has rear axle with a 8 1/4 configuration, remove the axle shaft and then begin removing the axle seal with a pry bar. Slide Receiver 9338 onto the axle tube and then use bearing Remover 6310 to move the bearing and foot assembly through the receiver and bearing. Tighten the nut before your fingers get cut. First, remove any remaining sealer or sharp edges from the axle tube before installing new sealer. With Installer 9337, attach C-4171 to the axle shaft bearing, make sure the part number faces you and press the bearing into the axle until the tool touches the tube. After that, treat the new seal's lip with axle grease and carefully slide it into place with Tools 9337 and C-4171 and then reattach the axle shaft.
