2006 Jeep Liberty ABS Control Module Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair an ABS Control Module on 2006 Jeep Liberty?
A: First, take out the negative cable from the battery when working on the Electronic Brake Control Module. Following this, press down the ABM hydraulic harness button and remove it from the pump and then pull up the pump connector attachment and remove it as well. Cut the brake lines at the ABM and take off the nuts that attach the ABM. Pull out the ABM unit from the truck and remove its screws from the ABM module. A new ABM module must be set up again using a scan tool after it is installed. Put the ABM module into the ABM unit and fasten it with the 2 N.m screws. Then substitute the ABM unit onto the vehicle, using 14 N.m mounting bracket nuts. After that, reconnect the brake lines to the ABM unit, tightening them by 20 N.m. Next, attach the wiring harness connector to the ABM unit and tighten it by simply pushing down the release. After finishing, connect the negative cable again and bleed the ABS brakes.
