2006 Jeep Liberty Speed Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Transmission Speed Sensor on 2006 Jeep Liberty?
A: The first thing to do when servicing the input speed sensor is to raise the car and place a suitable catch pan beneath the transmission. Take the wiring connector off the input speed sensor and then take out the bolt maintaining the sensor to the transmission case, so you can re-use it because of the seal. Remove the input speed sensor from inside the transmission case. Before installing the speed sensor in the transmission case, put Mopar(R) Lock & Seal Adhesive on the bolt and make sure the sealing patch is back on. Turn the bolt to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.) and join the wiring connector to the input speed sensor. After all these steps, look at the transmission fluid level and add more if necessary, before lowering the vehicle.
