2006 Jeep Wrangler Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Locate and Replace the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor on a 2.4L Engine on 2006 Jeep Wrangler?
A: The temperature sensor for the 2.4L IMT is set at the back of the intake manifold plenum. Before removing the sensor, make sure to take the connector off and then remove any dirt around the sensor's base on the intake manifold. To remove the sensor, lift the little plastic tab and turn the sensor about a quarter turn counterclockwise. Meanwhile, check the O-ring to ensure it hasn't dried out. Make sure the sensor's O-ring is intact and take some time to clean the sensor mounting hole in your intake manifold when installing it. Push the sensor into the intake manifold, turn it clockwise so it clears the release tab and put the electrical connector back on.
