2007 Chrysler Pacifica Shock Absorber Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Shock Absorber on 2007 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: While supporting the car on stands, start by removing the fasteners and wheel, then come to the shock absorber. Put two jack stands directly below the engine cradle's front to avoid your vehicle from moving while you replace or install the rear suspension. Underneath the center of the rear suspension crossmember (for non-AWD models) or the driveline module (for AWD models), place an under-hoist utility jack or transmission jack, raise the head to reach the driveline module or crossmember and fix it in place. At first, remove both of the upper shock bolts, then remove the lower mounting bolt and nut. Make sure not to undo or take off the bolts holding the crossmember on the rear side of the vehicle, since you have to align the rear suspension when you install the component again so that the thrust angle remains right. Untighten and take out the bolts holding the crossmember to the frame on both the front and rear. Be careful not to overload the crossmember to keep from touching or damaging neighboring parts. Ease the jack until the crossmember hanging off the car drops enough for the top of the shock absorber to fit below the body flange. After that, turn the top outward and pull up on the lower end to pull the shock absorber out of the spring link.
