2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Safely and Effectively Remove an A/C Condenser on 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: The first step in removing the A/C condenser is to safety precautions. Before you begin, make sure you mark the places for the air seals, since these are needed to guide air through the A/C condenser and radiator and must be put back right for the air conditioning to work well. Remove the negative cable from the battery and withdraw all the refrigerant from the system next. After that, take out the battery strut and unscrew the nuts that hold the A/C liquid and discharge lines (2 and 3) to the A/C condenser (1). Discard the O-ring seals. Grasp the open refrigerant line fitting and press a piece of tape or a plug into it to keep contaminants away. After that, disconnect the upper radiator mounts and remove the condenser retaining bolts. After the refrigerant is out, tilt the radiator (4) to the back and carefully withdraw the A/C condenser.
