  A: Always disable the air bag system on any vehicle with air bags before servicing the control assembly, remove and disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for two minutes for the air bag system capacitor to drain before touching anything in the control assembly. The first step is to take the negative battery cable off. Loosen the center bezel from the instrument panel which allows you to access the back of the A/C-heater control. Remove the wiring towards the clock, power window switches and accessory switches. Take pictures of the control cable locations before you remove anything, to make installation easier afterwards. Remove the tiny screws or similar devices that keep the control cables on the back of the air conditioner and heater control and unplug the cables from both levers. Take the rear connector ends off the A/C-heater control wire harness and set the center bezel on the workbench. Remove the four screws that hold the A/C-heater control to the back of the center bezel and lift out the control.
