2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser Brake Disc Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace the Front Brake Disc on 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: To change the front brake rotor, support the vehicle, remove the nuts fixing the wheel and remove the tire and wheel assembly. To give the pads some distance from the rotor, you can gently pull the caliper piston outward and then work on the guide pins; never push directly on the piston because this may damage it. After that, undo the bolts that fasten the disc brake caliper adapter to the steering knuckle, then unseat the disc brake caliper and adapter as a body, making sure to hang it out of harm's way using a wire or bungee cord, keeping the brake hose from stretching too far. When done, remove those clips that hold the brake rotor to the wheel studs and slide the rotor off the hub and bearing.
