How to Effectively Service and Repair a Shock Absorber on 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

For both service and repair of the shock absorber, start by raising and supporting the vehicle. Following that, loosen and take out the nuts that hold the rear wheel mount in place (3) and then remove the rear wheel and tire. Hold a transmission jack or similar beneath the middle of the axle so that it can support the vehicle. After that, take out the washer (6), nut (7) and lower mounting bolt (5) from the axle (4). In the end, take apart the shock absorber upper mounting bolt (1) at the body bracket (3), then remove the shock absorber (2) from inside the vehicle.
