2007 Dodge Caliber Brake Caliper Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace a Brake Caliper on 2007 Dodge Caliber?
A: First, hold the brake pedal down about an inch with a brake pedal holding tool so that the master cylinder remains isolated after you separate the brake lines. After that, raise the vehicle and take off the three wheel retaining nuts, then remove the rear tire and wheel. Release the nut on the brake tube at the rear flex hose, then remove the clip and pull the flex hose off of the trailing link mounted bracket. Loosen and take the brake flex hose off the brake caliper. The top and bottom positions can change; if so, the special sleeve bolt may be found either above or below the other bolt. Be sure to place the bolts in the same spots to prevent NVH from occurring. Removing the two pin bolts allows you to slide and take off the disc brake caliper along with the outboard brake pad, off the rotor, inboard brake pad and disc brake adapter bracket. Ultimately, push on the brake pad retaining clip to expose the handle of the clip and slide the outboard brake pad off the caliper.
