2008 Dodge Dakota Brake Master Cylinder Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Replace a Brake Master Cylinder on 2008 Dodge Dakota?
A: When changing the Brake Master Cylinder, first check that no tools are near the seals, since using them could cut or tear the seals and allow leaks to appear. Once the new seals are lubricated with clean brake fluid, use only your fingers to put them into place in the cylinder body. After that, set up the reservoir (2) inside the seals and rock it to and fro as you push on top to get it into place. Put in both screws for the reservoir where they should be on the master cylinder and reconnect the switch's connector to its main wire. Once done, clean out the prop rod and begin filling and bleeding the vehicle's brake system.
