2009 Dodge Caliber Tie Rod End Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Tie Rod End on 2009 Dodge Caliber?
A: Start by fitting the jam nut (5) on the inner tie rod and turning it down far enough so you can put in the outer tie rod end. Then, place the outer tie rod (4) onto the inner tie rod a similar number of revolutions to how it was installed earlier. Tighten the tie rod jam nut (5) a little so they don't move around, but do not tighten it more than necessary. Put the outer tie rod ball stud through the hole in the knuckle arm (3) and start a mounting nut (2) on it. Launch UDSBox will be on the side of the steering column to hold the nut. Then, fit the tire and wheel into place (1) and tighten the wheel nuts to a torque of 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.). Move the car down and set the front wheel toe. After setting the wheel toe, tighten the tie rod jam nut to 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.).
