How to Service and Repair a Rear Parking Brake Cable on 2009 Dodge Dakota?

Before servicing the parking brake cable, raise the vehicle, make sure it is securely supported and clamp the cable to block its movement. After that, turn the cable adjuster nut counterclockwise and remove the rear park brake cable from the intermediate park brake cable. Use the compression tool to hold the tabs on the cable fitting into the raised edge where the rear park brake cable mounts to the frame and pull the cable through the mount bracket. Lift the parking brake cable off the lever and apply pressure to each tab at each end of the cable where it meets the support plate. Lastly, take out the cables from the brake cable supports.
