2009 Jeep Commander A/C Accumulator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove the Front A/C Accumulator on 2009 Jeep Commander?
A: You should remove the negative battery cable from the battery to insulate it before getting to the front A/C accumulator. Remove the refrigerant from your refrigerant system. After that, remove the grille, then take out the air cleaner housing and air inlet tube. Unfasten the nut holding the A/C liquid line to the A/C accumulator, remove the line from the accumulator and throw away the dual-plane seal. Remove the screw on the A/C accumulator holding it to the radiator and fan shroud and then remove the nut holding it to the A/C condenser. Unplug the line from the A/C accumulator and toss away the dual-plane seal. Make sure you tape over and install plugs in both the accumulator fitting, the port and the condenser port.
