2009 Jeep Commander A/C Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Safely Service the A/C Switch While Disabling the Airbag System on 2009 Jeep Commander?
A: Prior to servicing the control unit, take the negative battery out, wait ten minutes for the air bag system capacitor to discharge completely and then safely remove the ignition key. The controls for the ATC A/C-heater should only come from the same model year and line, to avoid problems when installing them. You should start by removing and isolating the negative battery cable. Then, pull the central bezel from the instrument panel and transfer it to a workbench. After that, loosen the screws that hold the electronic vehicle information center control and the A/C-heater control to the center bezel and then unscrew the controls themselves.
