2009 Jeep Commander Parking Brake Cable Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Rear Parking Brake Cable on 2009 Jeep Commander?
A: Before servicing or repairing the rear parking brake cable, take out the rear seat bottom first. Take off the connectors from the final drive control module and free the bracket mounting nuts. After that, remove the sill plates from the back and roll back the carpet to find the rear park brake cables. Fasten the park brake cable and take off the brake cables from the equalizer. Take out the park brake cables from the vehicle floor and elevate and prop up the car. Pull out the tire and wheel and then lift out the rear caliper and disc brake rotor. Unplug the cable from the brake actuator lever as well as from the park brake shoes at the rear. After that, remove the stabilizer bar bushings clamps by bolts, unclip the park brake cable pins from the axle and move the park brake cable through the support plate before taking it out.
