2009 Jeep Liberty Heater Core Parts and Q&A
Q: How to install a Heater Core on 2009 Jeep Liberty?
A: Ensure the heater core's pipes are not moved, loosened or disturbed, so coolant doesn't leak and you don't get injured. Should the foam insulation covering the heater core become damaged, you should replace it. Put the heater core (2) in place on the passenger side of the air distribution housing (3) and snap the four plastic tabs (1) in to secure it. Sit the heater core tube flange (4) onto the heater core tubes (6) at the passenger side of the air distribution housing (8) and then use the plastic retainer (5) to link the heater core tubes securely. Insert screw (2) through the holes to secure the heater core tube flange to the air distribution housing; tighten it until it reaches 1.2 Nm (10 in lbs.). Following this, mount the upper front passenger side floor duct (7) to the air distribution housing with two retaining screws (1) and make sure they are tightened to 1.2 Nm (10 in lbs.). The heater core tube flange foam seal must be replaced if it's damaged and it should be installed along with the foam seal (3). Put together the air distribution housing with the HVAC housing and clean the cooling system with the flushing method if the heater core is to be installed.
