  A: Before working on the spindle, raise and support the car, unscrew the wheel mounting nuts and take out the rear tire and assembly. Remove the brake's drum retaining clips and set aside the brake drum now. Loosen the dust cap from the hub and the bearing and also from the hub nut. After this, you can slide the hub and bearing off the spindle. Remove the two bolts on the parking brake cable and bracket routing fixtures attached to the axle trailing arm. If you have antilock brakes, loosen the screw holding the anti-lock brake wheel speed sensor to the brake support plate and take the sensor off. Push each brake support plate out and unscrew its spindle from the axle to remove the whole unit from the back of the support plate.
