How to Service and Repair Fuel Injectors on a 2.7L Engine on Chrysler 300?

For fuel injector service or repairs on a 2.7L engine, first cut the pressure in the fuel system. Take off the negative battery cable and remove the intake manifold plenum, always making sure to put a cover over the intake manifold. Detach the fuel supply tube quick connect fittings at the back of the intake manifold. When the system has no labels for each injector connector, tag them clearly for identification. Disconnect the wires coming into the fuel injectors and after that, remove the bolts holding the fuel rail in place. Pull up the fuel rail from the cylinder head and get rid of the retaining clips holding the fuel injectors. Take out the other fuel injectors and continue applying the method. Check the injector O-rings to see if there are any problems; if they are damaged, you have to replace all damaged O-rings and also damaged injector clips.

For installation, first push the fuel injectors (4) on to the fuel rail (2) and then use the retaining clips (3) to hold them in position. Screw the line to the fuel feed connection (3) using a torque wrench to 38 Nm (28 ft. lbs.). Secure the wiring harness cover (1) with its screw and after that, attach the engine cover. Reattach the negative terminal on the battery to its place on the car.
