How to Maintain a Fuel Level Sensor on Chrysler Crossfire?

Before servicing the fuel level sensor, first unhook the negative battery cable and empty the fuel tank. Erase the cargo area interior trim panels and afterward, take out the fuel tank partition by liberating the bolts. Disconnect the connector attaching the fuel level sensor to the electrical system. Make sure to put a shop towel under the fuel level sensor to keep extra fuel together during removal. Turn Special Tool 9240 to rotate the sensor counterclockwise and lift it out of the fuel tank to remove it. When putting in the fuel level sensor, re-insert it into the fuel tank and then hold Special Tool 9240 in place and rotate it clockwise until it is fully in place. Connect the fuel level sensor harness, replace the fuel tank partition and hold it in place by tightening the retaining bolts to 10 N.m (7 ft. lbs.). Trim the insides of the cargo space with the new panels, refill the tank and link the negative battery cable.

To complete the repair or service of the fuel level sensor on the left, first put in the level sending card and make sure the lock tabs are securely in place. Arrange your wires prima facie and then attach the module top to the module bottom. Attach the cables from the sending card, module card and fuel pump on the right and left sides. Before locking the module with the ring, position and lock the module so the marks line up properly. Use special tool #9340 to lock the left side module in place. Put the electrical connector into the left side module and then secure the plastic access cover on the module, folding the covering back to where it belongs. Attach and properly strap the rear lower seat cushion to the back seat. Fuel the car, put the negative battery cable in place and watch for leaks while pressurizing the fuel system with the scan tool.
