How to Safely Remove the Passenger Air Bag on Chrysler Pacifica?

The first step is to open the hood and then unhook the negative terminal on the car's battery. Allow two minutes for the air bag's reserve capacitor to empty, so accidental deployment which could harm or kill people, is prevented. After that, take out the glove box assembly. Using a tool like a long screwdriver, get up on either side of the passenger air bag and take out the screws joining it to the instrument panel pad and door. Following that, remove the two lower screws that fix the passenger air bag to the cross-car beam. Take out the electric air bag connector on the inner side of the passenger air bag which is fastened to the instrument panel steel part. Pull the passenger air bag backward, down and away from the front, maneuvering it so it clears every blockage before you put it through the glove box opening.

How to Install Air Bags and Head Impact Countermeasures on Chrysler Pacifica?

Put the curtain air bag (7) into the retaining holes found in the roof rail and snap the fasteners (9) so they are in position. Connect the side curtain air bag front tether (2) plastic retainer to the upper A-pillar (1) hole and insert the curtain air bag squib connector (4) into its socket. Wait until the vehicle system is active, then attach the curtain air bag (7) with screws (8) to the spring nuts in the side rail of the roof. Make sure the screws are tightened to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.). Attach the headliner in the vehicle, but make sure you do not connect the car's negative battery cable before appropriate testing, to prevent personal injury or death. For safety from head impact, place the head impact counter measure rail (5 and 7) into the retaining slots and press the retaining clips (6) firmly down before continuing with the installation as before. With the door closed, install the headliner in its original place, leaving the battery negative cable unattached throughout testing and secure the hood.

Put the curtain air bag (7) into the retaining holes found in the roof rail and snap the fasteners (9) so they are in position. Connect the side curtain air bag front tether (2) plastic retainer to the upper A-pillar (1) hole and insert the curtain air bag squib connector (4) into its socket. Wait until the vehicle system is active, then attach the curtain air bag (7) with screws (8) to the spring nuts in the side rail of the roof. Make sure the screws are tightened to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.). Attach the headliner in the vehicle, but make sure you do not connect the car's negative Battery Cable before appropriate testing, to prevent personal injury or death. For safety from head impact, place the head impact counter measure rail (5 and 7) into the retaining slots and press the retaining clips (6) firmly down before continuing with the installation as before. With the door closed, install the headliner in its original place, leaving the battery negative cable unattached throughout testing and secure the hood.
