2006 Chrysler Pacifica Air Bag Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install an Air Bag on 2006 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Before taking out the air bag, raise the hood, disconnect the negative cable and allow two minutes for the systems reserve capacitor to discharge. After that, take out the headliner from inside the car. Remove the screws that join the curtain air bag to the spring nuts on the roof side rail and separate the squib connector to the curtain. Get two people. One disconnects the curtain air bag front tether from the hole in the upper A-pillar, then pulls the curtain air bag away from the roof straight out to remove all the plastic fasteners along the side rail. Take the curtain air bag out of the vehicle all in one piece. For getting the air bag into position, place it over the retaining holes on the roof rail and snap it into place. Grab the plastic retainer at the side curtain air bag front tether and join it to the hole on the A-pillar's edge. Attach the curtain-air bag screws to the spring nuts in the roof side rail and drop your headliner back into place. Don't join the negative battery cable before you finish the air bag system test to prevent injuries or fatalities to passengers. Test both the vehicle and system and when done, check the car's hood is securely closed.
