  Start by breaking the ground connection of the battery and lifting and supporting the car, only after that you should remove and replace the compressor clutch assembly. Take out the belly pan and the accessory Drive Belt. Separate the engine wire harness from the connector that connects the compressor clutch field coil on the A/C compressor's top. Take out the wire lead and connector for the compressor clutch field coil from their base on the connector bracket. After that, take out the compressor shaft bolt using any of the tools above to stop the clutch plate from rotating while you undo the bolt. Avoid touching the gap area between the clutch plate and the pulley and bearing assembly, because damage could result in the clutch plate; and watch out for not losing any clutch shim(s) as they could be reused while putting everything back. Hit the clutch plate gently with a plastic mallet which will free it from the splines on the compressor shaft. Then, remove both the clutch plate and the shim(s).   Place the dowel pin on the back of the compressor clutch field coil into the hole in the front of the A/C compressor, attach the field coil and check that the wire lead is not touching the compressor. Slider-Lock must use a fresh snap ring to attach the compressor clutch field coil, so the bevel side points outward and the eyelets are located near the left or right sides of the dowel pin. Lay the pincer on the snap ring and gently pull or push it to fully install the field coil's snap ring. Don't damage the friction surfaces while putting in the pulley and bearing assembly. Make sure you use a snap ring with the bevel side facing outward to attach it onto the A/C compressor. Should you choose to reuse the clutch plate, pulley and bearing assembly, slip the original shims back onto the compressor shaft; for all-new parts, attach two 2.54 mm shims temporarily on the shaft. First, put the clutch plate on the front of the A/C compressor and fasten it with the compressor shaft bolt, tightening to 19 Nm. After tightening, inspect the air gap at various spots on the rotor to see it is 0.35 - 0.60 mm; if not, add or remove shims to fix it. Connect the compresor clutch field coil wire behind the connector bracket, then place the connector onto the bracket. Attach the engine wire harness to the connector. After that, fit the accessory Drive Belt and belly pan, get the car back onto its stands and rejoin the minus Battery Cable.
