Before anything else, join the canister to its bracket and then tighten all the nuts holding it together. After this, hook up the hoses to the vapor canister and slip the rubber isolator into the canister supports. Placed the rubber-lined canister brackets on the bottom mounting brackets and insert the assembly mounting nut. Attach one end of the electrical connector to the EVAP line and install the inner splash shield after that. After that, put on the tire, lower the vehicle and attach the negative battery cable last.

How to Service and Repair a Vapor Canister on Chrysler Crossfire?

You should always start by disconnecting the negative battery cable, raising the vehicle and then accessing the Evaporative Emission Control Canister. After taking out the nuts that secure the shield, carefully remove the splash shield and separate the vapor/vacuum/vent hoses. Pull the EVAP canister to the left so it comes free from the mounting bracket and take out the connector from the harness on the shutoff valve of the charcoal canister. Pushing the lock tab down will release the valve and after holding the lock tab in that state, just turn the canister counterclockwise to free it from the EVAP system. After that, remove and discard the worn O-ring.
