To uncover the engine timing cover, take the engine covers off and separate the negative cable from the battery. Then, remove the clean air hose from the
Throttle Body and after that, take out the retaining bolt and air cleaner housing. Let the system drain of coolant and remove the belt that drives the accessories. When those are out, remove the fan and fan shroud without touching or disconnecting the A/C hoses or freon. Put the A/C compressor aside, unmount the generator, separate the upper radiator hose and remove the portion of the heater hose connected to the timing cover. Take off the lower radiator hose connected to the engine and unbolt the accessory drive
Belt Tensioner and two idler pulleys. First, take off the crankshaft damper and, as you do, don't remove the hoses from the
Power Steering Pump. Then, set the pump aside. Remove the bolt of the dipstick support, exit the oil from the engine and remove both the
Oil Pan and the pick up tube. The
Water Pump can stay in place when timing cover removal is being done. After that, unbolt the timing cover, remove it and check that the timing cover slide bushings are present in the cover.
