Dodge Nitro A/C Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Safely Operate the A/C Switch and Heater Control on Dodge Nitro?
    A:
Before touching the A/C and heater control, isolate the negative Battery Cable to disable the air bag system and give it two minutes to discharge its capacitor. It is necessary to complete this step to protect you from accidental air bag deployment which might result in injury. After that, take out the center bezel from the instrument panel and set it down on a workbench. Later, remove the four screws fastening the A/C-heater control to the instrument panel center bezel and take out the control.
  • Q: How to Install the A/C Switch for Temperature Control on Dodge Nitro?
    A:
Attach the A/C-heater control to the back of the instrument panel center bezel and hold it in place by screwing down four screws at 1.2 Nm (10 in. lbs.). Then, fit the center bezel onto the dash and join the wire harness connectors to the back of the A/C-heater control, followed by connecting the wire harness connectors to the accessory switches and finally fit the center bezel. In the end, reattach the negative Battery Cable. As soon as you turn the ignition on after fitting a new control or replacing the original one, the A/C-heater control will automatically carry out Actuator Calibration. Should the A/C-heater control come from another vehicle, the user must manually trigger the Actuator Calibration function using a scan tool. Should you need it, launch the Actuator Calibration function from the scan tool.
