Before replacing the blend door actuator, turn off the air bag system by removing the car battery's negative cable and wait two minutes to allow the air bag capacitor to run down. First, take out the pedestal gauge panel and use the hole left by the glove box to disconnect the motor's wire harness. Turn the blend-air door motor lever to disengage the lock, then pull on the link to take it out. Once that's done, unfasten the three screws from the top of the motor to the distribution duct and remove the motor. Place the new blend-air door motor into the distribution duct, use the three screws to attach it and tighten them to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). Place the link to the retainer on top of the blend-air door lever so it stays there correctly, then close the link. Place the blend-air door wire harness connector, secure the glove box back in place and twist on the negative lead of the battery.
