Only models with the optional rear heater-A/C get underbody plumbing lines and, while it's possible to fix them one at a time, services require the removal of every underbody line from the vehicle together. Sharp twists or bends in the underbody pipes of the HVAC system can lower the performance of the heating and cooling systems. This results in slower flows and higher pressures in the air conditioning piping during AC use and elevated temperature coolant fluid in the heater piping when the engine runs. Before removal, unhook and isolate the battery's negative cable, remove the refrigerant and flush the engine coolant tank. Remove the underbody liquid line from the liquid line extension and the underbody suction line from the suction line jumper and remember to keep all opened refrigerant fittings in the engine compartment sealed with tape or a plug. Take the heater supply and return hoses out of the underbody combination heater line, lift the engine cover found in the passenger area, raise and balance the vehicle and pull off the front park brake release cable routing clip from the underbody suction line. Crawl underneath the vehicle and take off the flare nuts on both the underbody liquid and suction lines from the threaded openings of the rear heater-A/C unit. Then, break past the hoses from the rear heater-A/C unit that supply and return to the heater. Pull out the screw beneath the underbody plumbing clamp on the front floor and the screw attaching the underbody plumbing clamp to the front floor reinforcement, then remove the screws holding the underbody refrigerant line clamps to the underbody reinforcement at the side panel. Place the underbody liquid plumbing bundle at the side panel to reinforcement and secure it privately with two loosely installed clamp mounting screws. Attach the heater supply and return lines to the rear heater-A/C unit heater lines, after that remove the blockage from the suction line fittings and link the flare nut on the underbody suction line to the screwed fitting on the rear heater-A/C unit suction line, tightening to 47 Nm (420 in. lbs.). Take the tape or plugs off the liquid line fittings and link the flare nut at the bottom of the car with the threaded fitting on the rear heater-A/C unit's liquid line, making sure to tighten the flare nut on the underbody to 27 Nm (244 in. lbs.). All underbody plumbing bundle mounts should be attached with their hardware and screws tightened to 6.7 Nm and 3.3 Nm, respectively. Reattach the front park brake release clip on the underbody suction line, bring down the vehicle and join the heater supply and return hoses to the underbody combination heater line coming from the engine compartment. Take off the piece of tape or plugs from under the refrigerant line fittings in front of the underbody liquid and suction lines, connect the underbody liquid line to the liquid line extension and the underbody suction line to the suction line jumper. With that completed, replace the engine cover inside the passenger compartment. After that, add the negative cable to the battery, fill the coolant system, drain the refrigerant and recharge the refrigerant.
