Always disconnect the negative cable from the battery as the first step of working on the blower motor resistor. For the front blower motor resistor, disconnect the wire harness connector on the inboard side of the heater-A/C housing, remove the two screws and pull out the resistor. Adjust the rear heater-A/C unit to heat mode by selecting hot on the temperature control and leaving the ignition switch on. Then, after disconnecting the battery negative cable, leave the ignition in the OFF position. Open the cover on the rear heater-A/C unit, cut the wire harness connector from the resistor at the back before unplugging it and release the horizontal duct from the unit. Expose the blower motor resistor from the horizontal duct outlet, softly push the inside edge of the shield guard until it releases and take the resistor out through the duct. After placing the front blower motor resistor in the hole and fastening it with two screws (2.2 Nm or 20 in. lbs.), attach the wire harness connector and add the battery negative cable back into the battery negative terminal. Drop the rear blower motor resistor into the "uni-outlet" found in the upper housing, press its outboard edge under the tabs and then press down on the inboard side until it locks into its hole. After closing off the horizontal duct and cover, connect the wire harness, attach the battery negative cable and finish up.
