First, disconnect and separate the air bag system's battery negative cable to service the A/C heater control and wait two minutes after doing so. Take out the engine cover in the passenger compartment, reach between the upper and lower panels of the dash and pull out the vacuum harness connector located near the left defroster vent room of the duct. After that, undo the cluster bezel from the instrument panel and release the three screws holding the heater-A/C control to the panel. Take the heater-A/C control assembly away from the instrument panel to get to the wires on the back and then unplug the connectors. For installation, join the wire harness connectors to the back of the heater-A/C control, set the panel assembly in the instrument panel and fasten it using the three screws, tightening each to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). Put the cluster bezel into place again, connect the two halves of the vacuum harness connector under the dash, insert the engine cover in the right compartment and link up the negative battery cable.
