Battery Cable out of the way first, then remove the engine cover and the air cleaner assembly. After draining the cooling system, get rid of the accessory
Drive Belt, fan and fan drive assembly, coolant bottle and washer bottle. After that, pull out the fan shroud and do not interrupt the A/C lines or Freon, then remove the
A/C Compressor and put it aside, next remove the generator. Take the upper radiator hose off, remove both heater hoses from the timing cover and take out the lower radiator hose from the engine. Next, remove the accessory drive
Belt Tensioner and both idler pulleys, take off the crankshaft damper (2) without removing the hoses from the
Power Steering Pump and set the power steering pump out of the way. Take out the dipstick support bolt, drain the oil, remove the
Oil Pan and collect the pick up tube. The water pump can be left in place when the timing cover is being taken off. After that, remove the screws holding the timing cover and remove the cover, so that the timing cover slide bushings (1) remain inside.
