When mounting the timing chain, make sure the contact surfaces are free from oil and clean. Set the front
Crankshaft Seal onto the
Timing Cover and install the cover while tightening all the bolts to 9 Nm (7 ft. lbs.). After raising the car, put in the front oil pan bolts, tightening them to 10 Nm (88 in. lbs.). Bring down the vehicle, fit the vibration damper and pulley and tighten the bolt securely with 210 Nm (154 ft. lbs.) of torque added to the manufacturers' extra 180° of torque. You should then install the accessory drive
Belt Tensioner, using 58 Nm (43 ft. lbs.) for the bolt and the idler pulleys with bolts tightened to 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). Add the accessory
Drive Belt, EGR air control valve assembly, glow plug module, charge air outlet tube and cooling fan module and screw their upper bolts into place until they reach 14 Nm (10 ft. lbs.). Journal the vehicle up again to detach special tool 9102 crankshaft lock, replace it with the starter blank and tighten to 14 Nm (10 ft. lbs.) the lower cooling fan module bolts you installed. Connect the power steering line between the retainer and cooling fan module, secure the cooling fan wiring harness connector and install
Power Steering Hoses between the cooling fan and suspension and between the pump and cooling fan. First, put on the front skid plate, then drop the car down and finally link the hoses to the power steering reservoir before you start filling. Hook on the front engine cover bracket and the engine cover and afterward, fasten the negative cable to the battery. Raise the car, spin the steering wheel 20 times in both directions, start the engine and use the scan tool to complete the bleed. After stopping the motor, look for any leaks coming out from the engine while it cools.
