Raise the vehicle on jack stands or a hoist, take off the covering and detach and remove the wheel and tire to access one of the front speed sensor units. Separate the speed sensor cable bracket from the
Steering Knuckle and the retainer and bracket for the wiring harness from the inner fender. Pull the speed sensor sealing grommet from the inner fender and take the speed sensor cable out of the vehicle wiring harness. Once that is done, unscrew the bolt connecting the steering knuckle to the speed sensor and remove the sensor's head. Instead of using pliers on the seized locating pin of the speed sensor, take out the disc
Brake Caliper and rotor and tap the pin out with a pin punch. For installation, join the wheel speed sensor cable to the vehicle wiring harness, slide the front inner fender grommet over the speed sensor cable assembly and secure it all with the grommet and retaining bracket bolt. Guide the speed sensor cable around the
Shock Absorber as you install the bracket near the steering knuckle so it does not meet with any moving parts. First, torque the routing bracket bolt to 12 Nm (105 inch lbs.) and then fix the speed sensor head onto the steering knuckle, using a small bit of Mopar Multi-Purpose Grease or the equivalent around its locating pin. Fasten the speed sensor head firmly with an attaching screw tightened to 6 Nm (55 inch lbs.), set back the wheel and tire group and run a road test to ensure the base and ABS systems are operating correctly.
