Both versions of the ACM for this vehicle exist, one for cars that have optional side curtain
Air Bags and shows hardened black connector receptacles along with an added bi-directional safing sensor, while the other version does not have these features and shows gray connector receptacles. It is very important to turn off the system before touching any components by taking out the negative
Battery Cable and disconnecting the capacitor for two minutes. The ACM includes an impact sensor required for releasing the supplemental restraints and any unintentional falling of the module calls for it to be replaced to prevent errors in deployment. Before you take out the ACM, disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the center console from the transmission tunnel and take out the nuts that fasten the center console's mounting bracket. after this, unplug the air bag overlay wire harness and instrument panel wire harness connectors from the ACM and remove the ACM by unscrewing the four fixing screws that hold it in place Set the new ACM so that the housing is completely against the mount and the arrow represents forward motion and use four 11 Nm (95 in. lbs.) screws to fix it in place. Secure and connect all the clip-in joints of the instrument panel and air bag overlay wire harness. Fix the center console bracket into place, tighten the nuts to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.) and then install the center console. You should not attach the battery negative cable until after completing the supplemental restraint system verification test procedure following work on any system component.
