While the overview does not specify different types or styles of Brake Light Switch used in various Jeep Liberty models, it is essential to recognize that the primary goal remains consistent across all versions: they wanted to give effective signals for braking actions. The Brake Light Switch is important because it helps in keeping an interaction with other drivers thus being secure when driving.

Jeep Liberty Brake Light Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Safely Service a Brake Light Switch on Jeep Liberty?
    A:
Remove the negative Battery Cable, then wait for about two minutes after the air bag capacitor discharges to ensure it doesn't go off unintentionally during service of the brake light switch. The brake lamp switch comes with an adjusting plunger that can be used one time only. Once removed from its bracket, you must replace it with a new switch. Remove the negative cable from the battery first and then take off the cover of the steering column opening from the instrument panel. You can find the brake lamp switch under the support bracket on the steering column. Unhook the wire harness from it, turn the switch housing counterclockwise 30 degrees and put the tabs of the locking collar on the keyed slot on the bracket. Pull the switch straight out of the keyed hole, then throw away the removed switch.
