First, disconnect the battery negative cable and isolate it to disable the SRS, then wait two minutes so the system's capacitor time runs out before you start the installation. Previous-production air bags could contain material from the production process, so be sure there is no foreign material in the PAB or between the cushion and door. It is important not to paint the PAB door because it can change how it responds during deployment. Put the passenger air bag and air bag door as a set through the top of the instrument panel base trim, so the two studs at the lower end of the passenger air bag engage with the holes in the instrument panel armature. Insert and tighten the two nuts that hold the passenger air bag bracket to the instrument panel armature to 6 Nm (55 in. lbs.). Reemerge the connector end of the instrument panel wire harness without a passenger air bag into the air bag inflator connector receptacle, where each colour and shape should align. Press down on the door of each passenger air bag until it snaps into its hole in the instrument panel's base trim. Slide the
Glove Box and the large top part of the instrument panel into place. Connect the battery negative cable only after the SRS verification test is carried out after changing any part of the air bag system.
