Before taking out the intermediate shaft, make sure the steering column module is centered and secured so it doesn't move. First, take off the lower coupling pinch bolt with a long extension and a swivel socket. Raise and hold the vehicle, then remove the inner fender well from the left side to get at the intermediate shaft. Next, take out the nut of the intermediate shaft from your bracket and, after that, remove the whole bracket from the bike's frame. Remove the intermediate shaft mounting nuts from the bulkhead first from below, inside the fender well and then from above, at the master cylinder. First, remove the hush panel and the cover on top of the column, then take out the pinch bolt from the upper coupling to the column. Slide the power steering shaft past the lines and upwards and then lift it out from under the master cylinder at the top. For easy installation, tilt the body up and place the shaft in from the top near the master cylinder. Push the shaft up and forwards through the lines, then install a new upper pinch bolt by sliding it through the column. Instead, reinstall every access cover, the hush panel and the intermediate shaft mounting nuts to the bulkhead, so that you connect the lower nut from inside the car and the upper by the master cylinder area. Tighten the bearing nuts to the intermediate shaft onto the bracket and bolt the bearing bracket to the frame. Attach the inside fender assembly up on the left again, lower the vehicle and then fit the shorter lower coupling pinch bolt using a long extension and a swivel socket.
