How to Replace a Windshield Washer Pump on Jeep Grand Cherokee?

The task begins by cutting off the battery negative cable and putting the vehicle up on supports. Unhook the left headlamp and dash wire harness from the metal motor connector, then remove the liner from the wheel house in the left front fender. Unconnect the washer hose from the nipple at the front pump/motor, draining the fluid into a clean plastic. Gently use a wide flat-bladed tool such as a trim stick, to ease the barbed inlet of the washer pump out of the seal in the reservoir so that you do not harm the reservoir. Lift out and throw away the rubber grommet seal that fits within the pump hole inside the washer reservoir. Before installing, put a fresh rubber grommet seal into the hole on the pump mounting bracket. Align the barbed nipple of the washer pump with the grommet in the reservoir and press it fully down and evenly. Attach the washer hose to the pump's barbed outlet nipple and hook back up the left headlamp and dash wire harness connector to the motor connector. Put the liner into the left front fender wheel house, drop the vehicle, add more washer fluid and attach the negative cable to the battery.

How to Install a Windshield Washer Pump for a Gasoline Engine on Jeep Wrangler?

Replace the washer pump for a gasoline engine by taking the rubber grommet seal/filter screen unit from behind the washer reservoir and setting it into the washer pump opening in the reservoir. Get the rubber grommet seal/filter screen under the washer pump and press gently down so the pump fits over it. Then, bring the top of the washer pump/motor down over the reservoir and press it to snap the post on the motor housing into the receptacle in the reservoir. If there is one, snap the hose from the rear washer to the pump outlet and then do the same for the front washer with the other end. Attach the top end of the wire harness for the washer pump/motor to the connector receptacle on top of the motor housing and then hook up the battery negative cable again. After removing the washer fluid, fill the reservoir with as much fluid as was taken out.

The task begins by cutting off the battery negative cable and putting the vehicle up on supports. Unhook the left headlamp and dash wire harness from the metal motor connector, then remove the liner from the wheel house in the left front fender. Unconnect the washer hose from the nipple at the front pump/motor, draining the fluid into a clean plastic. Gently use a wide flat-bladed tool such as a trim stick, to ease the barbed inlet of the washer pump out of the seal in the reservoir so that you do not harm the reservoir. Lift out and throw away the rubber grommet seal that fits within the pump hole inside the washer reservoir. Before installing, put a fresh rubber grommet seal into the hole on the pump mounting bracket. Align the barbed nipple of the washer pump with the grommet in the reservoir and press it fully down and evenly. Attach the washer hose to the pump's barbed outlet nipple and hook back up the left headlamp and dash wire harness connector to the motor connector. Put the liner into the left front fender wheel house, drop the vehicle, add more washer fluid and attach the negative cable to the battery.

After removing the washer fluid, fill the reservoir with as much fluid as was taken out.
