2000 Jeep Wrangler Turn Signal Flasher Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Turn Signal Flasher on 2000 Jeep Wrangler?
A: To fix the turn signal flasher, begin by cutting power from the battery negative terminal and taking off the knee blocker in the instrument panel. The flasher unit and bracket are always serviced together. To get to the screw that holds the combination flasher bracket onto the upper steering column mounting bracket, reach through the inboard side of the steering column opening inside the instrument panel, then remove the screw. Take the harness cover and the flasher assembly out by lowering them, unclipping them, then disconnect the cord from the flasher. Take out the combination flasher and bracket beneath the main instrument panel as one unit. During installation, place the combination flasher with its bracket directly under the instrument panel and make certain the terminals on the combination flasher are aligned into the receiving cavities of the wire harness connector, then press down and make sure it is fully seated. Load the combination flasher and bracket into the upper steering column mounting bracket to the right of the steering column underneath the instrument panel, tighten the screw securely and keep the tension at 4 Nm (35 in. lbs.). Don't forget to reinstall the knee blocker and then reconnect to the negative battery cable as well.
