2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee A/C Compressor Cut-Out Switches Parts and Q&A
Q: How Do A/C Compressor Cut-Out Switches Relate to Low Pressure Sensor Service and Repair on 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: In order to service the low pressure sensor/switch, the first step is to configure the battery cable negatively. From above, pull the wire harness connector from the cycling clutch switch next to the accumulator. Take out the O-ring seal from the accumulator fitting on top, then unscrew the a/c low pressure switch from it and toss the seal away. When installing, coat a fresh O-ring seal with clean refrigerant oil for R-134a, fit it on the accumulator connection and only use the official O-rings and oil recommended by the manufacturer of the R-134a vehicle compressor. Screw the a/c low pressure switch onto the accumulator fitting by hand, connect the wire harness connector to the low pressure cycling clutch switch and then link the negative battery cable back to the car.
