2001 Jeep Wrangler Wheel Bearing Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Wheel Bearing on a Rear Axle 194RBI on 2001 Jeep Wrangler?
A: The first step to service and repair is to remove the rear axle shaft, then remove the axle shaft seal with the small pry bar from the end of the shaft tube. After that, pull out the axle shaft bearing by attaching Bearing Removal Tool Set 6310 and Adapter Foot 6310-5 to the axle tube. Ensure the bore within the axle shaft tube doesn't have any roughness or burrs and repair them when necessary. Before installing, make sure the axle shaft tube bore is clean. Use Installer 6436 and Handle C-4171 to put the new axle shaft bearing in place, making sure the part number you see is facing the installer. After that, stick the new axle shaft seal inside using Installer 6437 and Handle C-4171, then slide the axle shaft back into its place.
