2002 Jeep Wrangler Wheel Cylinder Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Wheel Cylinder on 2002 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Carefully remove the push rods and their boots from your car, then push the pistons, cups and spring and expander outside of the cylinder bore. When this is done, remove the bleed screw. To build the assembly, put clean brake fluid in the wheel cylinder bore, pistons, piston cups and the spring and expander. The first piston fits into the cylinder bore, then the first cup is set beside it with its lip facing the center and the flat side touching the piston. Following that, place the spring and expander and after that add the extra piston cup and piston. Set the boots on each side of the cylinder, push the push rods into the boots and install the cylinder bleed screw.
