2003 Dodge Durango A/C Expansion Valve Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service an A/C Expansion Valve on 2003 Dodge Durango?
A: Start the service by disconnecting the battery's negative wire and saving the refrigerant from the entire system. Remove the liquid line next and, while it is out, get the screws out of the evaporator tube flange that hold the expansion valve in place. Always put plugs in or tape over every opened line fitting where the refrigerant is stored. Set the expansion valve in place on the evaporator tube flange, removing plugs or tape from its ends and tighten the two screws. Bring the liquid line into the car, release all the remaining refrigerant, recharge the system and then reconnect the negative lead of the battery.
