  A: In order to work on the evaporator core if there are air bags, disconnect and separate the negative (ground) cable from the battery, then give it about 2 minutes to discharge the air bag system capacitor. Open and split up the HVAC housing, then detach the evaporator coil unit and extract it from the HVAC housing's bottom half. After installation, return the evaporator coil to the space beneath the HVAC cover and restart the evaporator foam insulator and rubber tube seal following the same instructions. Replace all the parts into the HVAC housing and install it back. Should the evaporator be replaced, put in 60 milliliters (2 fluid ounces) of refrigerant oil approved for the compressor in the car.
