2003 Jeep Liberty Heater Core Parts and Q&A
Q: What Are the Safety Precautions for Servicing a Heater Core on 2003 Jeep Liberty?
A: Prepare the vehicle for servicing the heater core by removing the air bag capacitor's negative output from the battery, waiting at least two minutes to discharge it, then unplugging the battery connection to the air bag system. This precaution ensures air bags do not go off accidentally and no one sustains an injury. If there is air conditioning in the vehicle, be sure to read the suitable warnings and cautions prior to use. The first step is to remove the HVAC housing and if you have them, next remove the heater core retaining screws. Lift two of the tabs on the retaining clips while pulling up on the heater core to take it out. Secure the heater core by putting it into the HVAC top, then push down until all the tabs are fastened. After that, insert the two heater core retainer screws and put the HVAC housing back in place.
