How to Service the A/C Switch on 2003 Jeep Liberty?

Before servicing the control assembly, turn off the air bag system in vehicles with air bags by removing the battery negative cable and waiting two minutes for the capacitor to release energy. Removal of the center bezel uncovers the A/C hoses, so release the vacuum harness from the A/C Heater control as well. Remove the four screws that attach the A/C Heater control to the instrument panel and pull it apart far enough to get to the connectors on the back. Take out the connectors from the heater control's backside and put the back of the panel aside. Insert the wire harness connectors and vacuum connector into the back of the A/C Heater control, fit it into the instrument panel bezel and hold it in place with the four screws, tightening them to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). Following this, put the center bezel in place and once more attach the battery negative cable.
