2003 Jeep Liberty A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install an A/C Condenser on 2003 Jeep Liberty?
A: Start by disconnecting and isolating the battery negative wire and refresh the refrigerant before you remove the condenser. Remove the refrigerant line fitting from the discharge side of the condenser and put plugs or tape over all open refrigerant line fittings. Unplug the liquid line at the condenser outlet if you choose the Left-Hand Drive method or use the liquid line jumper instead if it is Right-Hand Drive and cover both openings with tape or a plug once more. Lift out the radiator and condenser together, using the instructions for cooling. With the nuts removed from the condenser studs attached to the radiator brackets, slide the condenser low enough that the studs are out of the top radiator bracket holes and the condenser's bottom bracket holes can freely clear the dowel pins under the radiator-then take out the condenser. Space the holes in the condenser brackets over the dowel pins beneath the radiator and slowly move the condenser upwards so both studs go into the block's holes in the top brackets, then tighten the mounts by hand to 5.3 Newton meters (47 foot-pounds). After mounting the radiator and condenser, open the lines on the condenser outlet and liquid line, fit the liquid line component to the condenser outlet and use the clip/loose element to secure it. Withdraw the tape over the condenser inlet connection and then fasten the discharge line fitting to the inlet opening. After reconnecting the battery's negative cable, evacuate the refrigerant and charge up the system again. If you change the air conditioning condenser, add 30 milliliters (1 fluid ounce) of oil for the system, using the type suggested for the compressor.
