How to Maintain the Third Row Seat Belt and Retractor on 2004 Dodge Durango?

Moving the third row seat cushion out of the way lets you pull down the back while still standing up which makes it easy to access the seat belt lower anchor on the quarter inner panel. Take out the screw beneath the lower anchor that fixes the D-pillar to the quarter inner panel, then open the trim panel from the upper D-pillar. Put the seat belt and lower anchor through the access hole in the D-pillar trim panel, remove the screw that holds the seat belt loop to the roof and take out the loop before you continue. Then, take off the quarter trim panel from the lower D-pillar and remove the screw holding the retractor bracket there. Once that's done, pull out the third row seat belt and retractor together. Install the molded plastic retractor cup so that it is properly attached in the retractor mounting hole of the inner D-pillar and it is in good condition. Attach the rear outboard seat belt and its retractor to the D-pillar as one piece. After you have done that, fasten and tighten the bracket screw for the retractor to 39 Nm (29 ft. lbs. on the lower D-pillar. Situate the turning loop from the seat belt to the inside of the upper D-pillar and secure it with a torque of 39 Nm (29 ft. lbs.). Slide the quarter trim panel onto the lower D-pillar, feed the seat belt and lower anchor through the D-pillar hole and install the upper D-pillar trim panel to the quarter panel. Attach the lower anchor to the quarter inner panel's tapping plate and tighten the attached screw to 39 Nm (29 ft. lbs.). Next, bring the third row seat cushion back into the upright and forward position.
