How to Service the A/C Switch on 2004 Jeep Liberty?

Before servicing the control assembly on a vehicle with air bags, first cut the negative cable on the battery and wait two minutes while the air bag capacitor goes empty. You should unhook and isolate the negative battery cable first. After that, take out the bezel from the middle of the instrument cluster, then slip off the four screws holding the A/C heater control onto the panel. Pull the A/C-heater control out from the dashboard to gain access to the back connections. After that, take out the vacuum harness and the wire harness connectors. Join the two wire harness connectors and one vacuum hose to the back of the A/C-heater control, set the panel on the instrument panel, then tighten the four retaining screws to 3.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). At last, mount the instrument panel center bezel and attach the negative battery cable.
