2005 Jeep Liberty A/C Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How Does the A/C Switch Function on 2005 Jeep Liberty?
A: For air bag vehicles, start by removing the negative battery cable and stopping the air bag system from functioning for two minutes, since the capacitor, active after the car is turned off, has to discharge before service. It's important to remove the center bezel at the start with the next step being to remove the four screws on the A/C heater control. After you pull the control away from the panel, go to the back of the unit to unplug the vacuum harness and wire harness connections, then remove the control from inside the car. Installation requires connecting the wire harness and vacuum connectors to the A/C-heater control's back, attaching it to the instrument panel and attaching the retaining screws-ensure all reach 2 N.m (17 in.lbs.). Afterwards, attach the instrument panel center bezel, connect the negative battery cable and run the A/C-Heater Control Calibration procedure.
